Frequently Asked Questions
General
A discovery call is a chance for us to get to know each other and how we can work together.
It’s an information gathering opportunity for us so that we can learn more about your business and how we can help. It’s also a chance for you to chat to one of our key team members and learn more about us.
Until you’re a client with us, we can’t give you any legal advice. We’ll talk about how we can work together and suggest a clear plan moving forward.
The first step is to book in a Discovery Call. Once we’ve had a chat about how we can work together, we’ll provide you with a proposal.
Once you’ve signed on to work with us, you’ll then complete a questionnaire and we’ll get started on your project.
For contracts, you’ll be able to access your document in 7 days and we’ll bill you via direct debit. We’ll then have a Microsoft teams meeting where we will make 1 free round of revisions to your document in real time. You can expect a complete turn around time of 7-14 days.
Turn around time depends on the exact project, but you can expect to receive most contracts within 7 business days.
If you have asked us to prepare more than one document, we’ll try to complete them at the same time to speed things up.
Legal Advice Sessions will be scheduled as soon as possible (usually within 24 hours).
For other work such as Leases and Trade Marks, we will let you know the expected timeframe before we get started.
If something is urgent or you are working to a deadline, please let us know ahead of time and we will do our best to meet your timeline.
We help business owners with all aspects of business law including leasing, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, compliance, consumer law and more.
Our mission is to support women in business. We’re powered by women who speak your language, write in plain English and provide practical solutions through our streamlined processes. We’re also a virtual firm, which means we have the flexibility to provide you with great service no matter where you live.
Billing
We work on a fixed fee basis. You can also speak to us about our subscription option.
Once we agree to work together, you’ll sign a direct debit mandate as part of the onboarding process.
We’ll charge your account on delivery of the document, advice or other work we have been engaged to complete.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to pay anything upfront.
Contact
We’ll be in touch throughout our work together, but if you need to let us know something you can phone us on 1300 790 264 or email us at info@herlawyer.com.au.

As a virtual law firm, we do most of our work online. That said, we do have an office in Miranda where you can make an appointment to meet with us in person if need be.
